I graduated in 1996 with a Swedish Massage Certificate from the Therapeutic Massage Training Institute located in Charlotte, NC. I practiced certified massage therapy until the laws for licensing changed.
So, I went back to the Therapeutic Massage Training Institute in 2005 and finished the 600 hour program. During my training, I was a teaching assistant for a class consisting of 14 other students. I graduated with honors in July of 2006.
While in school, I attended continuing education seminars for headache relief, acupressure, additional massage techniques, aromatherapy, and self care for the massage therapist. I also completed a clinical research paper on the effects of abdominal massage on chronic constipation.
